 Install the Maximiz pixel on Shopify store

Install your Maximiz pixel to your Shopify store and start collecting the contacts and order details. 

Follow this guide to set up Maximiz.ai scripts on your Shopify store.

Prerequisite: Identify and Save Your Shopify URL


1: Develop a Maximiz app in your Shopify account.

2: Sync your Shopify account with your Maximiz.ai app.


Identify and Save Your Shopify URL

Before getting started, make sure to locate and save your Shopify URL. You’ll need it readily available to complete the next steps successfully." 

To find your Shopify URL: 

  1. 1. Go to the "Stores" option in the left-hand menu of your Shopify account. 

  1. 2. Copy your Shopify URL and keep it for future use


NotesImportant: The Shopify URL is not the same as your website URL. It contains “. myshopify.com” in its path."




Set Up a Maximiz App in Your Shopify Dashboard

1. In your Shopify account, find the 'Develop apps' section.

  • Go to Settings in the bottom left corner.
  • Choose Apps and sales channels from the menu on the left
  • Click on Develop apps located in the top right corner.



    • 2. Create the “Maximiz Script Manager” App

    1. Click on the button Create an app
    2. When the pop-up shows up, type “Maximiz.ai Script Management” for the App name and hit Create App.



    3. Configure Permissions for the “Maximiz.ai Script Management” App in Shopify.

    In the Overview tab, click on Configure Admin API scopes.




    From the Admin API Access Scopes:
    • Find Orders and tick the box next to read_orders.
    • Find Script Tags and select the boxes for write_script_tags and read_script_tags.




    • Find Customers and check the boxes for write_customers and read_customers.



    1. Find Products and mark the box for read_products.




     Finally, save your changes.

    4. Install Maximiz.ai Script Manager on your Shopify Store.

    • Click on "Install App" located in the top right corner

    • From the pop-up, select Install





    2. Sync your Shopify account with your Maximiz.ai app.

    Prerequisite: Retrieve and copy your Admin API access token.

    • In App development, choose the app Retention.com Script Management.
    • Navigate to the API credentials tab.
    • Click Reveal token once, then copy the Access Token.




    Now go to app.maximiz.ai and select "Dashboard" from the left navigation

    1. In the "Pixel installation" click on the "install on the CMS"




    1. Select the Shopify



    1. Enter your Shopify shop domain in the designated field. This allows our system to identify your store.


    1. Input your Shopify API access token. This token is vital for secure interaction between your Shopify store and our application.



    1. Once you have entered the required information, our system will handle the installation of the script on your Shopify store automatically, so you don’t need to do anything further.
